Uganda T20 World Cup

After stunning Zimbabwe and Kenya in the African qualifiers, Uganda proudly heads on to this year's T20 World Cup 2024. This will mark Uganda's first appearance in any ICC event, and its skipper, Brian Masaba, will have the honour of taking his talented team to the competition. Similar to what the Canada T20 World Cup Team offers, Uganda has a blend of experienced and youngsters in their squad.

Although Uganda is relatively new in the World Cup scene, their squad has bags of experienced players. Here is the complete list of 15 players from Uganda set to take part in this year’s ICC World T20.

Juma Miyagi

An ICC U19 experienced fast bowler will look to pierce his way through the playing XI. Miyaji has 34 wickets in 21 T20 Internationals and has represented Uganda U-19 in the Caribbean.

Riazat Ali Shah

Riazat was the highest scorer for Uganda in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifiers. He scored 132 runs with a strike rate of 143.47. His aggressive batting will be key down the order.

Alpesh Ramjani

A nominee in the 2023 ICC Men’s T20I cricketer of the Year, Ramjani was outstanding and a pivotal figure in Uganda's qualification. Canada Cricket Team will also take a page from Uganda’s book and will try to imitate Ramjani’s role in their squad. Striking at 10.07 and an impressive economy rate of 4.57, Ramjani was the 2nd highest taker in African Qualification. He was also seen striking at 146.34 at the qualifiers.

Dinesh Nakrani

Nakrani took 9 wickets at an economy rate of a mere 5.51, which in the T20 term is praiseworthy. The Uganda all-rounder scored 60 runs in 3 innings at a strike rate of 157.14. His batting and bowling prowess will be a thing to watch out for at the World Cup.

Frank Nsubuga

Canada T20 World Cup Team doesn’t have what Uganda possesses. A 43-year-old slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a player that has been around for a long time, Frank Nsubuga. Although he is not a spring chicken anymore, he’s been on the news due to his pure commitment to his team. He’s the one to watch out for.
