Super Smash Fantasy League 2024-25
The most-awaited professional domestic cricket championship, Super Smash Fantasy League 2024-25 (Dream11), is back for its nineteenth season. This tournament is organized in the T20 format; the dates for the upcoming season have yet to be announced. Travel to different venues in New Zealand to witness history-making matches.
The six teams who compete in this tournament are Auckland Aces, Otago Volts, Northern Brave (M), Canterbury Kings, Central Stags, and Wellington Firebirds.
Catching Up with Super Smash Fantasy League
The Super Smash Fantasy Cricket League 2024-25 (Dream11) is organized by the New Zealand Cricket Board every year. Canterbury Kings won the inaugural edition of the coveted Super Smash Fantasy League at Eden Park Outer Oval, Auckland. The last Super Smash League 2023-24 season was won by the Auckland Aces after defeating Canterbury.
Since its inception in 2005-06, the Fireball Championship has been a domestic professional men's cricket tournament. However, the domestic professional women's cricket tournament has been held since 2018-19. Although the tournament changed names many times, it finally settled on the Super Smash Fantasy Cricket League (Dream11).
What makes the tournament fun is its Double-Round-Robin format between six teams. Each team plays ten matches, scoring points per win or draw. The team with the highest points advances directly to the tournament finals. The teams coming second and third in the points table compete against each other in an eliminator to advance to the final round.
