According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) schedule, the 2022-23 season of the Bangladesh Fantasy Cricket League starts on January 5 and ends on February 16. Since the ninth season of the Bangladesh T20 Fantasy League is sponsored by Ispahani and the Minister Group, it is referred to as the Ispahani Bangladesh T20 Fantasy League co-powered by the Minister Group.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a plan to replace the old Bangladesh National Cricket League with a franchise-based cricket league, following the success of IPL and BBL. In January 2012, BCB agreed to a 350 crore and 6 years deal with Game on Sports Group to establish a cricket league containing six franchises.
The first season of the Bangladesh Fantasy Cricket League started on February 9, 2012, and all the matches were played at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium and Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The final match of the first season was held between Dhaka Gladiators and Barisal Burners, with Dhaka Gladiators winning the championship by eight wickets.
